Void - The Unspoken Equality

The concept for this piece is really nice. Everybody experiences those certain events in their daily life that seem to just flow by them. The title is great for the piece.

The editing style is very nice in the fact that its fairly unique. I like the continuous camera movement and the black gaps which lend to the "Void." One thing I don't like is that a lot of the pieces do just fly by or flash by. I know it was intentional but it didn't fit as well as I feel it could have been. I would like to see more differences in the speed of the shots or camera move as you stated because they don't feel very different from shot to shot.

The thing that really threw me off was that some of the shots came from the left and some of them came from the right. It made it more difficult to follow and because the shots flew by fast it doesn't let the viewer get to look at the shots as much as they should be able to.

I really enjoy this piece the way you fallow the protagonist on this daily routine is very different and unlike anything you ever see. What I really enjoyed in this piece if the constant motion, even though in some parts I felt the camera movement and the character movement were to fast for the eye to comprehend what was going on. As a viewer I would have liked this piece to slow down maybe a little bit to get a bigger glimpse of some of the events. I would love to see this piece evolve and fallow the character on though out the day, to not only have a project about transition of frame, but also time.

I definitely feel that the transitions you chose to make throughout this piece were very clever and visually interesting. The continuous loop of motion definitely gave me a sense of routine and lapse in time. The fact that the character's activities dictated the speed of each of the camera movements was very interesting.

At first i felt that parts of the sequence moved a little too quickly, however after i watched it a second time, i was easily able to make a parallel between the camera movement and the movement of the character without having read your artist statement. Definitely interesting but i could see how the intention could be easily missed by the viewer. Maybe a little more variation and emphasis on the different movements could clarify this better for the viewer...

The last few transitions made within the piece are awesome. I feel like the layout and timing of each shot is spot on. You did a very nice job on this. I really like your concept of cycles in this "Void" series. I'm definitely excited to see the final part of the series.
